Global Finance & Development structures the capital; the Nation Building Initiatives put it to work, beside governments, on the foundations a country is built from, from infrastructure, hospitals and schools to energy and the industries that give a nation its own momentum. We act as a country partner, not a passing financier, sharing the long horizon a nation is held to and the risk that comes with it.

Most capital enters a place to take something out of it, a resource, a margin, a return, and leaves when the taking is done. Tayrona is built on the opposite instinct. We enter to build, and we measure ourselves by what stands after we arrive. The craft is deepened, the community stronger, the nation more capable than before. Ownership, to us, is not a claim on value. It is a responsibility for it.

Tayrona begins where value begins. We own the mountain the emeralds come from. The cacao and the rarest fibres are secured where they grow. Each is refined within the Group. Securing the origin is what lets a Maison stand behind its provenance. It is also what builds the place. The mine that yields a stone supports a region. The plantation that feeds a Maison sustains a community. What reaches the world is the visible end of a chain that begins in the ground, in the work, and in the lives of the people at its source. Luxury and development are not two businesses here. They are two ends of one act.

It Began With a Place
Tayrona’s story begins not with a transaction but with a place. Its earliest roots were in a small collection of boutique hotels in South America in the 1960s, properties built around hospitality, discretion, and a sense of place. The group that grew from them never lost those instincts. Across five Maisons, a financing division, the initiatives that build with nations, and the ventures that supply them, the same conviction still holds. Build for the long horizon. Honour the origin.
